Five Things I learned Freshman Year

GUEST BLOG from 2011 Graduate Mollie Lindsey. To the class of 2012 and beyond...It's May, and graduation is near! About a year ago I graduated from a high school in Birmingham, Alabama, just as many of you will this month. The majority of my graduating class, including all my friends, decided to go to either Auburn University or The University of Alabama (Roll Tide!), but I found myself being called in a different direction. Through prayer and petition, the Lord was pulling me towards a smaller, Christian college. Towards graduation this put me in a difficult situation: whether to continue my comfortable life with my friends or to stray from the pack and do what the Lord was calling me to do. The decision should have been clear from the start, but I ended up bringing it down to the wire. I finally committed to Mississippi College, excited to start a new life without my high school background dictating my future.
College is a beautiful thing. My freshman year at MC has been filled with ups and downs, and although I am further in distance, it has ultimately brought me closer to my family and my heavenly Father. I’ve learned a thing or two along the way, and I want to share them with readers like you.
