Following Your Dreams (Part 2)

If you haven't already, check out Part 1!
I know it's been a while since my last blog, but I've had a busy few weeks! I 've been working, traveling, and camp counseling, so excuse my absence!
Anyway, today's blog is going to be about not only following your dreams, but actually finding them.
When you're little, it's so easy to think of a dream and just go with it. It changes once a week, and it's no big deal because you have another dream in your back pocket. Once you hit your teenage years and people ask you,
"What do you want to be when you grow up?", they expect an actual response this time. Wanting to be a princess or a firetruck no longer qualifies as an actual response, what they want to hear is brain surgeon or lawyer.
Sometimes it's hard to figure out what you want to do with your life. Sometimes you have absolutely no clue, and that's perfectly okay. If you're one of those people, here's a few tips on how to find your dreams.
1. Start with what you're good at doing and explore it.
Everybody is good at something. You don't have to be the best at it, just find something you really enjoy doing. It could be writing, solving problems, sports, etc. Just locate that one thing that makes you happy and start exploring your options with it. You could take a class at school, join a club/team, or talk to people who work in that field.
2. Can you make a career out of it?
Once you've found something, you need to ask yourself a few questions. Can you see yourself doing it longterm? Could you make a career out of it? Can that career make you a living? If you answered 'no' to one or more of those questions, don't sweat it! You can still find different careers that involve your passion. You just have to try new things and be open to changes.
3. Pray about it!
God's plan is ultimately what you need to follow. He's been forming a perfect plan for your life, and it's up to you whether you choose to follow it or not. Jeremiah 29:11 says “'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'”
4. Never give up.
If you've found your passion and it falls into God's plan for you, run with it. Do everything you can to make your dreams come true, and don't let anyone tell you it's impossible. If it truly is God's plan, nothing is impossible for Him.
Hopefully these 4 tips will help you in realizing your dreams and bringing them to life!
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Luke 12:34
'Til next time!
