The Documentation of Tiny Progression

Instagram: @geengerelleIt appears that we at GLAM love a good confession. Meredith has come clean about being a nerd. Amanda is all over it with her confessions on ADHD, weather obsession, and people-pleasing. Even I came clean about multitasking while driving.

So here is another to add to this list: I have never completed a daily journal... but I have started a countless number of them.

I love journals, and I love the idea of documentation and keeping a journal. However, I have never been able to keep one (other than while in Africa or backpacking Ireland.) Because honestly, no one's life is extremely interesting on a daily basis unless you are on a safari or a cross-country trek. The progression of our lives is a slow and steady walk, and we have so far to go

I was very excited, however, to receive a "One Line a Day" journal from my sister this Christmas. This is how all journals should be. One line at a time... One day at a time. This journal narrows down the most important thoughts and moments of your life while still documenting events and growth. Because people like me don't all of a sudden start writing epic journals. We all move one step at a time.

(via auntdanielle)Now the scary, intimidating part of it is that it's a "Five-Year Memory Book." I mean, hold up. Five years? Based on my track record, I will definitely lose this journal at some point and miss out on at least 2 of those years. However, I feel good about this one. Each page (each day) has space for your one-liners from each year. What a great way to see how far God has brought you... all on one little page!

Philippians 3:14-16: "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me... All of us then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained."

#febphotoaday - I can do this for a MONTH! My best friend has been doing it for YEARS! Talk about commitment... Since I haven't missed a day yet this year, I'm getting ambitious with my documenting skills. For February, I'm going to try a Photo-a-Day log on Instagram. It's just for fun... but maybe one day my great-great-grandkids will think it's cool -- if they are anything like me with my family history/ancestral obsession. Oh look! Another obsession confession! We are on a roll.
