"Love BIG or go home"

Welcome to 2013 everyone!! J This is always an exciting time of year, but this year it is a brand new experience. This year, instead of being in the office re-organizing and re-focusing for the year ahead, I find myself at home, in a dark room, trying to be as quiet as possible while my ten week old son naps beside me. I’m desperately and furiously typing trying to get through my to-do list that overflows with last year’s tasks. But you know what… It’s okay.

This morning I was listening to the radio, and the announcer was talking about the New Year and he said these words and I realized that they were exactly what I needed to hear,  “LOVE BIG OR GO HOME.”

God loves us so big. He has massive plans for our lives. He painstakingly planned everything about us. He placed us strategically in this place, at this time and He is watching with anticipation as we take each step and make new discoveries everyday. The greatest idea behind our lives is LOVE. God LOVES us too big! The goal behind our lives is to live as much like Him as possible, which means LOVING BIG!

Loving big isn’t just about loving other people. It’s about loving life too. Loving what you do, and whom you are around. So this year my plan is to do just that, LOVE BIG OR GO HOME. I’m going to invest my time in loving people and loving what I do.

The one thing to remember about loving, however, is that loving doesn’t always mean liking. There are a lot of things I love about being a mom, but I certainly do not LIKE changing dirty diapers or waking up in the middle of the night. But it’s part of the job that I LOVE. That goes for people too!

So this is going to be the year of loving my life BIG. The things that I can’t love, I’m leaving behind. I want to focus on the passions and people God has placed in my path. I want to enjoy it. I want to do it all to the best of my ability.
